Book Report

HOLES By Louis Sachar

Im not sure what Genre this book is but the book is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats IV. One day he was walking down the road when a pair of shoes came flying down to his arms and he caught them. All of a sudden he was swarmed by the police and taken to court for stealing. Turns out they were shoes from a famous runner Clive 'Sweet Feet' Livingston. Stanley tried to explain that it was a misunderstanding but they didn't listen to him. He had a choice of going to prison, or go to a cruddy boot camp named 'Camp green lake' with poor water and food.

What I liked about this book was that its not the sort of book I would usually read but once I got into it I really enjoyed it. It was a good hook. I enjoyed all aspects of this book, I didn't find anything I didn't like about this book. I would recommend this book and I rate it 10/10!

  1. Can you imagine something like this actually happening - if so it is 'Realistic fiction'.
What did you learn about Stanley's character - how would you describe his personality? Can you support your ideas with examples from the story?
